Booking Terms & Conditions
Bookings are subject to the following terms and conditions:
A contract between you and the owner will come into existence when the deposit or full payment is received, and a booking confirmation is issued showing the confirmed holiday dates.
The deposit/full payment must be paid at time of check-in.
The contract binds you (the lead booker) & all the members of the party who are part of the booking. It is your responsibility to ensure that all members of your party accept the terms of the contract set out in these terms & conditions. Failure to disclose all relevant information or comply with these terms may lead to termination of the contract & loss of the booking.
Any problem or complaint must be immediately reported directly to us/our representatives to allow us the opportunity to resolve it.
Non-compliance with the house rules will be considered as a breach of the terms and conditions of the rental agreement. We reserve the right to terminate the booking with immediate effect and without a refund if they do not abide by the rules.
Guests
We require the names, ages, and contact details of all guests.
The maximum number of persons occupying the room/property must not exceed (2 persons) and only those listed on the booking form can occupy the property. If you wish to invite additional visitors to visit you during your stay, please ask us first.
Please be advised that no extra overnight visitors are allowed to stay at the property.
Bookings cannot be accepted from persons under eighteen years of age.
The owner reserves the right to refuse a booking without giving any reason.
We or our representatives reserve the right to enter the property at any time to undertake essential maintenance, repairs or for inspection purposes.
Tenancies normally commence at the specified check-in time on the arrival date and guests are required to leave the rental by the specified check-out time on the day of departure. Failure to do so may result in you being charged a further day’s rental.
You must not use the property except for the purpose of a holiday.
Pets are not allowed in the property or on the grounds.
Vaping or smoking anywhere inside the premises will result in immediate termination of occupancy and forfeiture of all payments. This must be strictly adhered to, and any damage or extra cleaning caused will be at your expense.
Cancellations
We strongly advise that you take out comprehensive travel insurance to cover cancellations. If you choose not to, then you accept responsibility for any loss that you may incur due to your cancellation.
If your booking is cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control, notification will be given of the cancellation as soon as possible and we will promptly refund all payments made to us for your holiday. Our liability for cancellation will be limited to payments made to us.
If our property must close due to government restrictions or your address is put into local/regional lockdown for your holiday dates and you are unable to travel, you will be refunded in full.
Damages and breakages
Please treat the facilities & accommodation with due care so that other guests may continue to enjoy them. If you notice something is missing or damaged in your accommodation, please let us know immediately after check-in so that we can take the appropriate action. If there has been any damage or breakages during your stay, we would be grateful if you could report them promptly, especially before check-out. The accommodation will be inspected at the end of the holiday & you may be charged for any loss, damage or extra cleaning costs. In making a booking you accept responsibility for any theft, breakage or damage caused by you or any member of your party and agree to indemnify us in full for any loss that we may incur as a result. These are to be paid for in full within 7 days of notification.
If damage occurs and the owner must cancel and/or refund subsequent bookings, the owner may bring a claim against you for any loss arising as a result.
Please do not move any furniture from one room to another or any of the indoor furniture, furnishings or bedlinen outside.
Please lock the doors and close the windows when you leave the property unoccupied.
Please make sure you switch off lights, heating, air conditioning or any electrical appliances when you go out – we’re an eco-friendly holiday home.
Please don’t take any bath towels with you to the beach, use the pool towels.
The owner reserves the right to make a charge to cover additional cleaning costs if the client leaves the property in an unacceptable condition.
The client may in no circumstance re-let or sublet the property.
The owners shall not be liable to you or your holiday party for loss or damage to property, however arising.
All inventory must remain in the property and not be taken to another property.
Swimming pool
The swimming pool is only open throughout specific times of the day – please check with our staff as these may change according to the seasons. Please respect these timings out of respect for the other guests.
Please avoid using glass in the pool/hot tub, use the plastic cups provided.
Guests must shower before entering the water and remove suncream and makeup.
No diving or jumping in the pool as it has a maximum depth of 1.2m.
Parking
All vehicles are parked at the owner’s risk. When you have parked your vehicle, it is your responsibility to: lock your vehicle securely, fully close all windows of your vehicle, apply your handbrake properly, engage any steering lock, alarm or immobiliser you have, not leave any animal or person within your vehicle, remove your possessions and ensure that any possessions you decide to leave in your vehicle are placed in a locked boot and are not on display.
Sancreed House Retreat is not responsible for any loss or damage whatsoever occurring to your vehicle or possessions in it. We do not make any representation as to the extent of coverage provided by the CCTV cameras in the parking and no guarantee is given as to the security of your vehicle in car parks where CCTV is installed. If you believe that criminal damage has been caused to your vehicle/property you should report this to the police. In the event that there is any footage available, the local Police force will have full access to all of our CCTV and the staff of Sancreed House Retreat would fully cooperate with any police investigation as needed.
Vehicles must be parked, wholly, in the appropriate marked bays only. Additionally, vehicles must be parked in a manner so as not to cause any obstruction to other car park users.
Our Surroundings
Please respect the community and try to keep noise levels to a minimum, especially between 10 pm and 8 am.
We reserve the right to terminate your rental agreement with immediate effect where the unreasonable behaviour of the persons named on the booking (or their guests) may impair the enjoyment, comfort or health of others. You’ll be asked to leave the property, without any refund of the rental amount paid.
Fireworks, Chinese lanterns, fire-pits, candles and portable barbecues are strictly prohibited.
Third-Party Suppliers
If you want to use the services of a third-party supplier (e.g. a chef, beauty treatments) this must be agreed beforehand. If you bring a third-party supplier without consent, we reserve the right to ask them to leave. We do not accept liability for the activities of these third-party suppliers.
Wi-Fi
The guest agrees to reasonable and lawful usage of the free Wi-Fi.
Usage of Spa Facilities
If you are making this booking on behalf of a group (any more than yourself), it is your responsibility to make all users aware of the information in this waiver, to ensure they agree, and to practice safe spa use. In this document, “Spa” refers to the sauna and outdoor baths located in the east garden.
Health & Medical
All persons using the spa do so at their own risk. If you have any reservations regarding sauna & hot tub use, such as medical conditions, underlying health problems, history of dizziness or fainting, the use of prescription drugs, or pregnancy, it is essential that you consult your GP before making a booking.
By agreeing to our waiver you understand the risks and have consulted with a medical professional. You understand and take full responsibility for your own health and wellbeing.
Contraindications include (but are not limited to) the following. Should you have any of the following you must seek consent from your doctor prior to using the sauna, hot tub & cold water immersion:
- Pregnancy
- Cardiovascular disorders
- Blood pressure disorders – high and low
- Nervous system disorders
- Lymphatic system disorders
- Heart Disorders
- Blood disorders
- Epilepsy
- Asthma
- Diabetes
- Allergies
Anyone entering the sauna and/or hot tub assumes full responsibility of their medical / health condition, to include but not limited to, any medications the person may be taking which could result in a medical emergency or unsafe condition. All persons must know their own limitations and assumes all risks associated with any activities in which they may engage in while in Sancreed House Retreat.
General
Please shower before using the Sauna and/or hot tub..
Smoking and e-cigarettes of any kind are not permitted in or around our facility. No glass containers or bottles are permitted at any time in our sauna or baths.
Alcohol and drug use is strictly prohibited in the spa area. Sancreed House Retreat reserves the right to refuse admission to the sauna/baths to intoxicated persons.
By agreeing to this waiver, you acknowledge and accept the risks inherent in the use of the sauna and baths. You voluntarily assume the risk of injury, accident or death, which may arise from the use of our facility. You hereby waive and release Sancreed House Retreat from any and all liability, past, present and future relating to spa sessions.
Using the spa
Please leave footwear in the changing area of the sauna.
Please sit on your towel in the sauna and wear swimwear whilst using our hot tub.
Please do not touch the stove, stones or chimney.
Please only pour water on the stones from the bucket and ladle provided. Please do not add oils or anything else to the water as it can damage the stones. We provide sauna scents specifically designed for the sauna stones.
Use caution when pouring on the stones as hot steam will rise and could burn your arm. You should start by pouring at the back of the stove and bringing the ladle forward so that your arm is never in contact with the steam.
Practicing Safe Sauna & Spa Use
Prolonged exposure to the sauna may cause your body to overheat. Limit yourself to a maximum of 15-20 minutes (depending on experience). We advise beginners to start with 3 – 5 minutes. Exit immediately if nauseous, uncomfortable, dizzy or sleepy, and notify the member of staff on duty. Do not use the spa if you have recently consumed alcohol, drugs or medications. Use the spa at your own risk. Any metal in the sauna such as jewellery and watches will retain heat and therefore is not suggested to bring into the sauna. Stay hydrated before, during and after spa use.
While swimwear is optional inside the sauna, please remember it is not optional outside of the sauna barrel and outdoor nudity is strictly forbidden. Please be respectful of other guests at all times.
Electric Car Chargers
Domestic electric vehicle chargers (commonly known as a ‘granny charger’ or a ‘trickle charger’) are not suitable for use at the property and are strictly forbidden. You are liable for any damage or loss suffered by us due to your unauthorised use of domestic chargers.
This property is privately owned and is our home. We expect all guests to enjoy the facilities and treat the property with the same respect that they would with their own home.
